MILLINOCKET – Theresa (Landry) Cyr, 87, wife of Gilbert F. Cyr, passed away Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, with her husband by her side. Theresa was born Aug. 27, 1926, in Baker Brook, NB, the daughter of Denis and Lydia (Ouellette) Landry.
Theresa grew up on a farm in Riceville, NB. Theresa was a devout Catholic. Her faith in God was a very important part of her life. As a teenager she moved to St. David where she met Gilbert. They got married and settled there and had five children. In 1955 they moved to Millinocket to work at the Great Northern Paper company. They bought a house there and had two more children. Together they raised their family there. After they retired they sold their home and spent winters in St. Cloud, Fla., and summers at Smith Pond. Theresa loved to sew her own clothes, and to knit stockings and mittens for her grandchildren. She loved gardening. Her flowers meant a lot to her, but the most important thing to her was raising and caring for her children in the Catholic faith.
