FORT KENT and ADDISON – Lawrence J. Pelletier, 87, of Addison, formerly of Fort Kent, died Friday, March 31, 2006, at a Milbridge Nursing Home after a brief illness. He was born Oct. 25, 1918, in St. Francis, the son of the late Belone and Marie (Gendreau) Pelletier. Mr. Pelletier was a U.S. Veteran serving in the Army as a specialist fifth class. For many years he worked as a heavy equipment operator constructing roads and turnpikes from Massachusetts to Maine. He worked for the Woodlands Operation in Millinocket as a heavy equipment operator for many years retiring in the mid 1980’s. For the last 16 years he resided on the Golden Road with which he helped construct. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus of Fort Kent. Upon retirement, he enjoyed being a handyman for any family member or neighbor that needed help. He shared 53 years of marriage with the late Claudine (Jandreau) Pelletier who died in 2001. Family members include a son, Stephen Pelletier of Addison; one grandson, Cameron Wayne Pelletier of Addison; four brothers, Rudy Pelletier of St. Francis, Bert Pelletier of Fort Fairfield, Carroll Pelletier and Roderick Pelletier, both of Connecticut; two sisters, Greta Pelletier of Connecticut and Linda Thibodeau of Newport and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by four sisters, Evelyn, Pearl, Fern and Muriel; and a brother, Agitore (Jiggs) Pelletier. Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, April 6, at the St. Charles Catholic Church in St. Francis. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Spring burial will be in the St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, St. Francis. Local arrangements are by the Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home of Milbridge and the Daigle-Nadeau Funeral Home of Fort Kent.
