CASTINE – Philip Mark Donaghy, of 1 Court St., Castine, and 25 Avenue de la Machinotte, Lege-Cap Ferret, France, died peacefully 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, at home. Philip succumbed to leukemia after almost eight months of treatment, including a bone marrow transplant at Dana Farber in July and multiple stays at Eastern Maine Medical Center. Philip, who turned 35 in August, was an information technology consultant and a submitter to the Apache Software Foundation. Philip is survived by his dear wife, Anne; and his son, Liam, 4, who attends the Adams School; and his daughter, Mila, 2, who attends the Otter House. He is also survived by his brother, Simon Donaghy of Washington, D.C.; his mother, Jennifer Donaghy and his stepfather, Patrick Lorenz, of Castine; his father, Austin Donaghy and stepmother, Anne Conners, of Cushing. Philip was a remarkable young man, whose courage and constantness have lit our lives and those of his caregivers throughout this trial. Our huge gratitude goes out to Dr. Phillippe Armand of Dana Farber Institute at Harvard and Dr. Thomas Openshaw of Eastern Maine Medical Center. Most special thanks to all of the nurses and caregivers on the sixth floor of Eastern Maine Medical Center, and to our friends in Castine and around the world. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 150 Perkins St., Castine. A reception will be held after at One Court Street, opposite the church.
