Three women who dated Graham Platner described him as “toxic” in interviews with The New York Times. The Democratic U.S. Senate candidate, who has been candid about his past shortcomings, said the new claims are false. A poll released before the NYT story came out Thursday gave Platner an edge over Susan Collins.

A poll found a new leader in the Democratic gubernatorial primary, while Bobby Charles maintained a lead in the GOP race for the Blaine House. Joe Baldacci led the Democratic field looking to face former Maine Gov. Paul LePage for the 2nd Congressional District seat now held by Jared Golden.

It costs nearly $100,000 a year to attend Maine’s elite colleges. As the costs for most goods soar, so do the prices for colleges across the country. But Maine’s trio of “little Ivies” are among the nation’s most expensive.
